The Lost Expanses

The Lost Expanses are a set of lands that are rumored to be on the other side of the Great Fog Barrier. Some adventurers claim to have been to those lands and claim that there are exotic cities and peoples there. There are several places that are considered part of the Lost Expanses, besides lands and areas beyond the Great Fog Barrier, there are also areas south of Gott, where there are mountains and lands that currently are not accessible due to various land and monster issues. Of all the claims of things and places, there are only a few what one would call credible claims. These are listed below.

1. AMARIAN EXPEDITION

The Amarian Expedition was a large group of ship nine in total. The ships were led by Amarian Captain Elror Hemfreid and the mission of this expedition was to break through the Great Fog Barrier and explore the Lost Expanses, and bring back fauna and items from there. The secondary mission was to bring back a map of the coastal areas of the lands, and map a safe course for other expeditions. All nine ships left in fair weather, and were never heard from again, except five weeks after they left an Amarian fishing boat called the Guppy found a lone man in a battered small row boat, this man Roderick Corlin was the second mate on the lead ship led by Captain Hemfreid.

Corlin once brought back to Loc Amar claimed that they had made it past the Fog Barrier and found bright green lands, rich in fresh water and said there was a large city, with a port where magical ships floated in the air on their own, and there were towers made of bright gold and marble. He said that the fleet if ships attempted to make peaceful contact, but were attacked, and only one ship managed to make it into the Fog Barrier, and soon sank, with only him making it on the dingy. He soon after succumbed to his physical condition and died.
