Good and Evil
As player’s begin to play out their quirks the subject may come up on “how” a player plays a certain quirk. Are they going to play their PC in a overall “good” way or overall “evil” way. In other game systems Alignment helps guide the player, however since the Alterverse Role Players Game does not use alignment we have to explain a bit deeper on this aspect of game play.
As in life a player make’s choice’s. When playing a character they play that PC in specific ways. They over the course of game play and time will eventually mold that PC into an individual and unique thing. How they play that PC’s personality is where Good and Evil come into play. A player makes choices, will they take advantage of the vulnerable, will they come to the aid of a Child in distress, will they kill a sleeping unarmed guard to gain access to the Tower? Choices.. They are what define us in real life, and they are what will define your Player Character.
Can a PC kill that guard, and the next day rescue the Child… does either choice make the PC inherently evil or good? No it does not. However, over time, they WILL begin to sway either way. There are no GOOD or EVIL quirks, a PC who has the Quirk “Very Religious” is not innately good, nor are they evil. But they can play it either way. A player can do “evil” thing’s and still overall be a “good” person. And likewise they can make a choice to be evil or good. These decisions are what they will have to make while in the course of game play and character development. These choices will make their PC unique, and fun to play. A player should not worry HOW they are going to play their PC, instead they should just go with the flow, and play their PC as it comes, eventually the good and evil part’s of their PC will come out, and the player will develop their PC into something unique.
