There are several types of games in the Alterverse Role Players Game. These types set usually the pace and style of game play and are as follows.

Hack -n- Slash

Hack-Slash is basically where the player’s of a game go from one combat encounter to another, with no real end or goal. They simply kick butt and take names. This style of game allows a PC to gain in-game experience and levels very quickly. This type of play does not involve a high level of creative or strategy. Ever hear the term “strong as an ox and dumb as a box of rocks?” This kind of game play fit’s that perfectly.

Dungeon Crawl

When done well, a Dungeon Crawl is one of the best kind’s of game play a player can experience and a GM can plan. Usually this type of game play has a balance of fighting, thinking, and problem solving. The environment can be fun and thrilling. There is a lot of room for the player to actually Role play, and the GM to plan and delve into the more creative areas of being a Game Master. What also make’s this kind of game style one of the best is that it tends to give the players a lot of combat, thinking, and planning experience. When player’s grow in level’s through type of gaming, they tend to be more well rounded, better players.

Monty Haul

Monty Haul’s tends to be a cash grab game. They contain a lot of treasure, a lot of loot, and therefore a lot of experience to gain levels. However, this can also be the game with the most for a PC to lose. Money does not grow on trees, not even in the Alterverse, and most GM’s do not just “give” you something for free, or easily. Always beware of the pouch of gold dropped by the stranger. Not everything is as it seems in the Alterverse.

Quick -n- Dirty

This is usually a mini adventure, or a simple task or series of small task’s that can be achieved or completed in one or two gaming session’s. These can be a lot of fun, as the players have a sense of accomplishment and gain levels very quickly. However, player’s can get tired of the lack of complexity and want a more immersive experience.
